  • Athletics: Porterville College hosts annual Academic and Athletic Achievement Awards

    The 2016-17 athletic season recently came to a close for the Porterville College Pirates and last week, the Athletic Department honored 18 student-athletes as well as a pair of special Pirate supporters at the annual Academic and Athletic Achievement Awards ceremony.
  • Baseball: Grader goes the distance in PC win over Cerro Coso

    Sophomore Jordon Grader tossed eight shutout innings before allowing a pair of runs in the ninth, but held on for a complete-game victory as Porterville College beat the visiting Cerro Coso College Coyotes by a final score of 6-2 on Wednesday to open a three-game Central Valley Conference series.
  • Baseball: Pirates snap streak with 11-2 win at Antelope Valley

    Freshman shortstop Jose Narvaiz had a day at the plate to remember. The lead off batter paced the Porterville College offense going 4 for 6 while scoring four runs scored and driving in three to help lead the Pirates to an 11-2 win over the Antelope Valley College Marauders in Lancaster on Monday.
  • Baseball: Pirates edged 3-2 at Sequoias

    Porterville College sophomore pitcher Matt Weis turned in a quality start, allowing three runs and four hits in a complete-game effort, but the Pirates' offense left 14 runners on base in a narrow 3-2 loss at College of the Sequoias on Thursday.
  • Baseball: Pirates' offense silenced by Reedley in three-game CVC sweep

    The Porterville College bats couldn't get much going over a three-game Central Valley Conference series and were swept by the Reedley College Tigers. The set wrapped up on Saturday with a 9-0 loss at Reedley as the Pirates were held hitless.
  • Baseball: PC's Lozano, Prieto named to CCCBCA Academic All-State team

    Porterville College not only produces quality individuals on the field, but also in the classroom. Two fine examples are the Pirate student-athletes Brandon Lozano and Jose Prieto who were recently named to the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) Academic All-State team.

    Porterville College first baseman Dane Wasden (pictured) went 3 for 4 with a double but his good day at the plate was overshadowed by poor defensive play by the Pirates in a 9-1 loss at Taft College on Tuesday.
  • Baseball: Pirates' bats quiet in lopsided losses to Merced

    The Porterville College baseball team will be glad to not have face Merced College again this season. On Saturday, the Pirates wrapped up their three-game Central Valley Conference series with a 16-0 loss in Porterville to the Blue Devils. Marcos Alvarez went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI in Saturday's defeat.

    It was a tough way to open the 2017 Central Valley Conference schedule for Porterville College. The Pirates managed just one hit and lost 6-0 to visiting Merced College in both teams' conference opener on Tuesday.

    Sophomore first baseman Dane Wasden (pictured) launched a pair of home runs and drove in all four runs for Porterville College but the Pirates were still outhit by Barstow College and suffered a 14-4 non-conference loss on the road on Tuesday.

    Facing one of the hottest teams in the state, Porterville College lost a pair of non-conference games at home on Saturday, falling by scores of 18-3 and 11-0 to the unbeaten Ohlone College Renegades.
