Second-year head coach Rob Haynes announced the season schedule for the 2014-15 campaign.
Preseason highlights include four tournaments, including annual trips to San Diego (Nov. 14-16 to open the season) and College of the Sequoias (Dec. 19-21) – and two new invitations from Bakersfield (Nov. 28-30) and Chabot (Dec. 28-30).
"We will have an opportunity to play against some of the top programs in both Northern and Southern California," Haynes said.
"Last season, we got off to a fast 5-1 start, winning the San Diego consolation championship. Our goal this year is to be more consistent and play our best basketball during the conference season."
Haynes also agreed to four single games against non-conference opponents: at Compton (Nov. 21), at West Los Angeles (Nov. 22), at Allan Hancock (Dec. 5), and the home opener against Compton (Jan. 3).
The Central Valley Conference schedule begins Jan. 7 with a home date against Merced.
The Pirates will face a tough three-game stretch during the season with consecutive games at Sequoias, West Hills, and Merced.
PC returns All-CVC guards Adam Armstead, Tyrone Hall, and Malik Muhammad.
Haynes said that all youth wearing a shirt from the Junior Pirates Summer Camp will be admitted free to PC home games.
Fans can get their first look at the new team during "Pirate Madness 7" on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m.
More basketball news and special promotions will be announced soon.
