  • Athletics: Porterville College hosts annual Academic and Athletic Achievement Awards

    The 2016-17 athletic season recently came to a close for the Porterville College Pirates and last week, the Athletic Department honored 18 student-athletes as well as a pair of special Pirate supporters at the annual Academic and Athletic Achievement Awards ceremony.
  • Softball: Pirates wrap up season with losses to West Hills

    The 2017 season came to a close for the Porterville College softball team on Thursday as the Pirates dropped a Central Valley Conference doubleheader on the road to West Hills College Coalinga. Porterville ends the year with an 11-23 overall record and went 7-13 in the CVC to finish in seventh place in the final standings.
  • Softball: Porterville wins fifth straight, beat Merced 3-2 in doubleheader opener

    The Porterville College softball team ran its season-best winning streak to five games thanks to its narrow 3-2 win at Merced College on Thursday. Unfortunately, the streak came to an end later on after the Blue Devils handed the Pirates an 11-0 loss.
  • Softball: Pirates drop doubleheader at Sequoias

    Porterville College suffered a pair of Central Valley Conference losses on Thursday, falling by scores of 7-2 and 3-2 at College of the Sequoias. Freshman Taylor Maddox had a pair of hits and a RBI to lead the Pirates at the plate.

    Freshman Taylor Maddox continued her hot hitting on Tuesday, going 3 for 4 with a double and RBI but Porterville College couldn't hold a slim lead and fell 2-1 at Fresno City College.

    Coming off their first win of the season on Tuesday, the Porterville College Pirates couldn't keep the momentum going and suffered a pair of losses to Taft College in a Central Valley Conference doubleheader at home on Thursday. Taylor Maddox went 4 for 8 with 3 RBI over both games to lead PC.
  • Softball: Pirates rout Cerro Coso 14-0 in five innings for first win

    Freshman first baseman Mckenzie Hendricks went a perfect 4 for 4 with a pair of doubles and 3 RBI to help lead Porterville College to its first win, a 14-0 victory at Cerro Coso College in their conference opener on Tuesday.
  • Softball: PC swept in doubleheaders at Gavilan, Cabrillo

    The Porterville College Pirates are still in search of their first win of the season after dropping a pair of doubleheaders in the Bay Area. Sophomore Britnei Murray led the Pirates offense over the weekend, batting .500 over four games by going 5 for 10.

    Porterville College Softball head coach Vickie Dugan has seen a lot over her 20 years at the college. But the 2017 season go in any direction. With just four starters returning from last season, Dugan will need to get contributions from some key newcomers for her Pirates to contend in a tough Central Valley Conference.
  • Softball: Pirates drop two on opening day at West Valley

    The Porterville College softball team is still in search of its first win of the season after dropping a pair of tough games at West Valley College in Saratoga on Saturday. The Pirates suffered a 10-5 loss to host West Valley in their 2017 season-opener and then were edged 6-5 in extra innings by Santa Rosa Junior College.

  • Softball: Pirates earn Easton/NFCA National All-Academic Team Award

    Thanks to a 3.264 grade point average, the Porterville College softball team has been named a 2015-16 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Junior College All-Academic Team. Also, five members from that Pirates squad earned Easton/NFCA JC Scholar-Athlete honors.
  • Porterville College Softball transfers four on to next level

    Porterville College Softball head coach Vickie Dugan has announced that four members from her Pirates squad has signed on with four-year colleges to continue their academic and athletic careers. Briana Bamber is headed to Urbana University, Danielle "Nelly" Jimenez and Alyssa Benally are both transferring to Blue Mountain College, and Destiny Garcia will take her talents to Transylvania University.
