Fujii, Ward Earn All-Central Valley Conference Honors

Following the close of the 2024 regular season, sophomore Cade Fujii and freshman Jonah Ward earned All-Central Valley Conference postseason awards.

Fujii was a double-winner as he was named a second-team All-CVC infielder and was selected to the conference Gold Glove Team at middle infield.

Fujii, originally out of Kapolei, Hawaii, led the Pirates offense with 48 hits, 14 doubles, and 36 RBI. Over 40 games, he hit .282 on the season with a .418 slugging percentage.

He was solid on defense at the shortstop position for the Pirates and helped turn 16 double plays.

Ward was one of PC's top pitchers, leading with Pirates with 12 starts on the mound. He struck out 43 batters over 67 2/3 innings and compiled a 3-6 overall record with a save. Ward came to Porterville from Monument, Colorado.

The Pirates ended the season on a five-game winning streak and an 18-22 overall record. PC went 10-14 in Central Valley Conference play to finish in sixth place.
