The Porterville College baseball team dropped a three-game series to the Fresno City Rams. In a Game 1 defeat, Tyler Stansberry was 1 for 3 with an RBI, Jimmy Martinez and Gio Chavez each went 1 for 4 at the plate with an RBI. Chavez also scored a run.
In a 9-1 loss in Game 2, Tyson Tellez was 1 for 2 and drove in the lone run for the Pirates. Tyler Stansberry was 1 for 3 and scored a run. Louie Torres threw four strong innings giving up one run on 2 hits before being replaced for the 5th inning.
In Game 3, a 10-1defeat, Nolan Arnold, went 1 for 2 at the plate, hitting his first career home run and Gio Chavez went 3 for 4 at the plate. Jimmy Martinez came into relieve Colton Isom after four innings and gave up no runs on two hits while striking out four.
The Pirates will host Santa Rosa on Wednesday, April 9th at 2:30 PM and Thursday, April 10th at 11:00 AM.
