Freshman Brandon Thomas earned All-Tournament team honors as Porterville College won two of three games over the weekend to finish in third place at the Skyline College Tournament in San Bruno.

Porterville College sophomore Carlos Angel scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Pirates in a high-scoring 94-88 victory over Barstow Community College in an opening-round game of the Victor Valley College Memorial Tournament on Thursday.
The 2017-18 Porterville College Men’s Basketball season got off to a rocky start as the Pirates opened up the San Jose City College Tip Off tournament on Thursday with a 101-94 loss to Monterey Peninsula College and followed that up with a narrow 79-73 defeat by Merced College on Friday.
