Sophomore Chirrag Sidhu scored a career-high 26 points to help lead No. 26 state-ranked Porterville College to an 89-84 win in overtime against visiting Cañada College on Saturday.
The win improved the Pirates to 7-2 overall. PC bounced back from Thursday's loss at Bakersfield and has won five of its last six games.
Porterville overcame a 41-35 deficit at halftime to force overtime and outscored Cañada 15-10 in the extra period to pull out the win.
PC shot 65 percent for the game, sinking 35 of 54 shots. Sidhu was 11 for 16, including a pair of three pointers on his way to 26 points.
Julio Phipps shot 9 for 12, scoring 21 points with 8 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Quame Smith had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Isaiah Josue totaled 14 points and 8 rebounds.
Porterville returns to action next Wednesday (Dec. 15) when the Pirates travel to Monterey Peninsula College for a 5 p.m. non-conference game.
