Pirates excel at Liam Sehorn Invitational
OROVILLE – The Porterville College men's and women's cross country teams were in action for the third time this season, competing at Butte College's Liam Sehorn Invitational.
The PC men had three runners in action while the women's squad suited up a pair for the event.
Leading the Porterville men was Alexis Ibarra Estrella with a 25th-place finish. He completed the four-mile course with a time of 27:00.29. He was followed by Ignacio Cuevas Alcantar in 31st place with his time of 28:33.19, and Messiah Jimenez in 38th at 32:46.58.
On the women's side, Lizbeth Ramirez Ramos took seventh place with her time of 22:42.33 on the 5,000 meter course to lead the Pirates. Teammate Danika De La Cruz wasn't far behind in 10th place, clocking in at 23:27.43.
The Pirates will have some time off to prepare for the upcoming Central Valley Conference Championships. That meet is set for Oct. 29 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
