VISALIA – The Porterville College softball team dropped a 5-0 Central Valley Conference game at College of the Sequoias on Thursday.
All five Sequoias runs came unearned, with three scoring in the third inning and two more in the fifth. Alexandrea Andrighetto took the tough loss for the Pirates after going six innings and allowing all five unearned runs on seven hits and three walks, with one strikeout.
Porterville managed five hits but stranded seven runners, leaving the bases loaded in the second inning without scoring. Priscilla Mata-Suarez led the offense going 2-for-3. Morgynn Wylie, Avery Hupp and Crisslyn Rodriguez each added a hit.
PC dropped to 3-19 overall and 0-7 in conference play. The Pirates return to action on Tuesday (Mar. 24) when they host Coalinga College in a Central Valley Conference doubleheader that gets underway at 1 p.m.
