VISALIA – Sophomore Jenna Holder scored a team-high 15 points while Gracie Magana added 13 points to lead Porterville College in an 83-53 loss to Riverside City College at the College of the Sequoias Crossover on Saturday.
PC fell behind 16-9 after one quarter but thanks to a 20-point second period, trailed 37-29 at halftime. Riverside went on to outscore Porterville 46-24 over the second half to hand the Pirates the defeat. The loss dropped Porterville to 2-3 overall.
For the Pirates, Jazlynne Medrano added 8 points and 5 assists and Kaija Ambriz contributed 6 points and 5 rebounds.
Porterville will take an extended break for Thanksgiving and returns to action on Dec. 1 when it will compete at the three-day Santa Ana College Tournament. PC is set to face MiraCosta College at 6 p.m. in its tourney opener.
