PORTERVILLE – The Porterville College women's soccer team suffered a narrow 2-1 Central Valley College loss to visiting Madera Community College on Friday.
Freshman Dayanara Oliva scored for the Pirates in the 47th minute to erase a 1-0 Madera halftime lead.
PC appeared to be moments from earning a draw with Madera, but the Mountain Lions knocked in the go-ahead goal in the 89th minute to steal the game.
Porterville got a solid effort in goal from both Natalie Bernabe and Seray Casimiro who played 45 minutes each.
The loss dropped the Pirates to 2-3-1 overall and 0-2-0 in Central Valley Conference play. PC is back in action on Sep. 23 to host Reedley College.
